Within this Soul (via passionate-opinions)
"We say we shouldn’t fall for someone’s looks, but their personality, because their looks, physique, and all other external characteristics will change. But that’s not fair. People’s personalities change, internal characteristics change. And that’s the purpose of relationships - they allow us to change, adjust, and improve. They reflect our flaws which we may not have noticed; they provide support for us as we make amends where we need to. We can’t go into a relationship thinking our significant other isn’t going to change. We also can’t expect that we’re allowed to stay the exact same way we are, either. Nor can we hope to change everything about them. And neither can we hope that a new relationship will be able to change and better us. We are responsible for ourselves. We are the caretakers of our relationships. And we are support for one another - as we grow, develop, and improve."
